The Alto Adige region (Bolzano is the capital) is beautiful but Bolzano, itself, is definitely not worth a visit.
On the other hand, you would have to pass by Verona to get to Bolzano, and Verona is not only a beautiful city but you would save a few hours in each direction by visiting it instead and then turning east to Venice.
