Having spent one third of my life (i.e. >20 yrs) outside my home country and more than one third of the remaining time outside of my home town, I feel that I have much to say on this topic. Unfortunately (?) I don't have time for this. But let me suggest a book written by a Hungarian expatriate in the UK some 50 years ago (George Mikes: "How to be an alien"). This the most hilarious description of british culture and life style by a non-Brit. I wish somebody would write something similar for the French (our topic!), Greeks, Germans, Italians, etc.
