The 'Best Rate Guarantee' ( BRG ) is 'biting-the-hand-that-feeds' in my view.
Allegedly, one trawls over the internet, searching for an advertised 'cheaper rate' than the IC is advertising. There is then a provision, that says you get the night for free !
One would need to specifically find the CLUB ROOM rate advertised cheaper elsewhere, than the IC was advertising it for.
I don't know how common this ploy is successful, but it just doesn't seem 'right' to be going out of your way to search for such a rate, with the intention of making the IC give you something for nothing. ( especially so, if one is an RA, and claims entitlement to full RA privileges - increasing the 'loss' for the IC )
I don't think the management would hold you in 'high regard', should you claim this BRG trick more than once in a relatively short period of time. ( my opinion )
