Since I fly between Canada and the USA semi-often, here's one I overhear every now and then: someone will go through preclearance in a Canadian airport and say something to the effect of "now I'm on U.S. soil".

I'm pretty sure that's totally incorrect but not so dead-set sure that I've ever corrected anybody about it...
