If one is departing AUA to the United States, they would be precleared into the US before reaching the boarding gate. It raises a valid point, since the passenger would have already passed through US immigration and customs.
Ok. I am not talking about situations when preclearance is involved at an airport in other country. I am taliking about a much simpler situation, you land in the U.S. and thr go through immigration and customs.
Preclearanve is an aberation. You and your luggar is inspected before you give it to the airline.
