Got into a taxi at 5:45AM from the Radisson Soi 13. As has happened previously departing this hotel the driver, having previously consented to the meter, tried to request a set fare. He quickly relented but then I had an idea. I had him stop before leaving the driveway and I got out and took our bags.

We took another taxi.

The hotel claims they keep taxi info but drivers seem to uniformly flout the meter here moreso than any other hotel I've stayed at.

The new driver took us, appropriately for the time, up Asok to Rama IX and entered the highway at Piyawate Hospital at the 25THB toll entrance. Total was 25 min, 205 THB + tip + 25 toll.

We rarely take taxis that the hotel flags down but in this scenario, far down the soi and early in the morning, we didn't have a lot of choices.

We also had him drop us off at Door 2 rather than 3 for PG. I figured it might give him a better position to grab departing pax. It's somewhat humorous the jostling that goes on for positioning right behind AoT and BKK police who continue talking and not caring a whit about the 'illegal' pickups.
