Welcome to FT, as I see you have just joined us.

My experience with the Rimowa Topas is very good. My wife and I both have the Topas carry-on 2-wheel models (silver exterior, blue interior), and have used them for many years since 1994.

I have found them to be sturdy, well insulated from the elements (dust, torrential rain, snow, heat), quick to pull, and light to carry. I thought I might use two of the plastic clear covers tailored and purchased for this model, but frankly do not need them. Both clean easily with window cleaner and a hand towel.

Although the Rimowa service is excellent world-wide, neither of these cases has ever required any repairs.

In fact, mine has been loaned at the moment to a relative who is travelling, and wanted to use a hard but lightweight carry-on case. It should return with a few more miles and travel experiences with it. I'm using a Salsa Light combination for my business travel needs at the moment until it returns.

My suggestion is purchase the 4 wheel model if possible, as it is easier to pull, turn corners, or push ahead of you with 4 wheels. If you have the time, do your homework and shop around. My suggestion would be to first try and make your purchase from a Rimowa store near to you, if you can: Some of the internet suppliers have gone out of business or changed luggage lines over the years.
