My wife left her charger for her new iPhone 5 plugged in the wall of the luxury hotel we were staying at the weekend. (In the same way I knew I had left a couple of thousand dollars of travellers cheques in the safe in the Wynn in 2009 ( they located and posted on to my next hotel in LA.)

We checked out 2pm Sunday and realised Monday morning so I contacted and they claimed to have double checked and nothing was found. It was definitely there so either the hotel is "wrong" or perhaps taken by next guest.

Its annoying as Apple have put chips in their new accessories so that they cant be copied so easily so I'm forced to pay $40 for a new one.

They have offered me to come and go through their box of spares and take one but I have told them I doubt anyone else would have yet left behind an iphone5 charger as they only just out.

I am happy to put it down as one of those things. We should have taken everything away with us on checking out after all. I always do a sweep of the room but just missed this as it was hid by the bedside table. But my wife is going to be back in the city of the hotel tomorrow so is going to and speak to the hotel.

What has happened to others in similar situations and do the hotel have any responsibilities or is it our fault for leaving it there ?!

ANy other times when people know that they have left an item behind but the hotel are unable to locate it afterwards ? If so , what was the outcome ?!
