Make sure the fare basis Kayak gives you will earn Skymiles/MQM (eligible fares are posted on the Delta website). Miles usually post within a few days after your flight.

Gold upwards get KE lounge access for international trips and boarding priority. At SFO they use the BA/CX lounge that has its own exit direct to the gate ^ A lot of people enjoy ICN lounge food as the previous poster mentioned.

You can only select seats online via KE.com if you have a SkyPass account linked to your ticket, seat selection triggers within 30 days of the trip. You can sign up for SkyPass and get this done, and during checkin, ask the agent to make sure miles are deposited in your Skymiles account and not SkyPass.

I have never flown either one of these. From what I have seen, Korean Air is pretty good, yes? Will my Skyteam Elite status be recognized? Do they have an economy comfort concept? Will I be able to select my seats online?

What about China Airlines? I have not heard anything about their service, and I have no idea how the travel experience would be.

BTW, will I have trouble having MQM recognized for traveling with either of them?

Thanks!
