BA Interline luggage with Air India

Hello,

My Intenirary is as follows:

Depart British Airways, Newark Friday, Arrive Mumbai (connecting via LHR) at 00:45 Hrs Sunday

I have a flight from Mumbai to Chennai by Air India on Sunday at 17:15 hrs -- Separate ticket

Depart British Airways, Mumbai Sunday, Arrive JFK (connecting via LHR) at 22:40 Hrs Sunday-- Separate ticket

I have a flight from Chennai to Mumbai by Air India on Saturday at 20:45 hrs

Question is if British Airways will Interline luggage (tag) straight to Chennai (MAA) even though it is a separate ticket

Likewise, Could Air India interline my bag all the way to JFK for the next days flight from Mumbai

I do understand that I am resonsible for clearing customs/ immigration in port of arrival (Mumbai) and have to lug my own bags between the two terminals/ airports in Mumbai.

The baggage allowance to India from the US on BA is 2 bags of 23kg (total 46 kg). My worry is that Air India might stick to their baggage limit for domestic flights (25 kg)
