Yes, it is specific to A380. I was told that they may decide to close the upper deck section. They did for TG410 on 12-OCT and then they re-open it again!!! Because of that all the original re-seat assignment are lost.
I think it is just how disorganized TG is. If they decide that the UD may be clsoed. They should just block all the UD Y class seat first and only open it on checkin when they need to use UD. By doing this, they will not make people (like me) upset.
