REI Overnighter Review

With the popularity of the Tom Bihn Tristar and Red Oxx Air Boss I thought I'd post a review of the REI Overnighter. At 2,075 cubic inches / 34L it is within 5% of the capacity of those bags but can be purchased for about 1/3 of the price. It can easily fit 2 days worth of clothing, a spare pair of shoes and an iPad or ultrabook. Remove the shoes and you can get another day or two of clothing in there. If you stuff the thing to the gills the back side (with the backpack straps) stays flat so it's still easy to carry on your shoulder or back. You would really need to be creative to get this bag to an unmanageable weight. I think this is a great 2-3 day one bag option for those on a budget. Here are some pictures:

Those are steel toe boots. My iPad sitting in the legal brief. I put my socks and underwear in the mesh pocket. You can fit more clothing on top of what is pictured.

Front pocket has plenty of room for 3-1-1 bag, chargers, earphones, medications etc.

Two small pockets on the front for your boarding pass, car keys, change etc.
