Are the Azores or Cape Verde (or for that matter even Ireland, Iceland or Great Britain) even part of any continent? They are certainly not part of the continent's land mass.

There are regularly scheduled flights between SSH-HRG (Asia-Africa), 66 miles. AFAIK, that is the shortest inter-continental regular flight in the world. Can anyone find a shorter inter-continental flight anywhere?
