Out of intrest is it of value/worth to buy Avios. What is the cash value like on them? I know for example for 30,000 miles (24,000 + 6000 Bonus), this would buy you 3 return flight to Europe for example, but then the fare you could buy could be cheaper. DO people buy just to top up, or rather buy as it can be better value than the fare?
The fare may be a little cheaper but you will lose all your cash if you need to cancel or make a change. For roughly the same price you can buy and use Avios and if you need to cancel you just lose £25 per ticket. Avios is effectively therefore a flex ticket.
