I have spent the last 30 minutes reading a plethora of infant award threads, and I feel a touch of a migraine on its way.

We are trying to use AAdvantage miles to book LAX-xxx-MUC and VIE-xxx-LAX return for next fall for my wife and I, plus an infant (I usually find LHR to be the easiest xxx in there). My wife has never flown BA up front (J is probably the plan), so I'm willing to spill the YQ for us. That's the easy part.

The 10% infant fare is more frustrating. From what I've read, Avios will sell you an infant award for 10% of the miles, plus 10% of the YQ. AA however will only sell you the award for 10% of the full fare. Naturally, I'd much rather do the former. Does anyone know if there is a way to ticket my wife and I via AA (I have far more miles there) and then add on an infant with Avios via BA?
