We're based in Hawaii. I'm about to make platinum for the first time.

My GF, with no status, takes maybe 3-4 flights a year, all but one with me.

What choice benefit is actually practical for me to take?

If I gift her Silver, my initial thought, what does that really get her? No upgrades (Hawaii). 1 free bag @ 70lbs (wowee). Semi-priority phone line (but I could just call up the platinum line for her). Priority boarding, I suppose. But no speedy security line. No yellow bag tags.

I could do the 4 SWUs and save 15k miles on each K-upgrade we buy. But I don't use my miles for much EXCEPT upgrades (so as to preserve earning MQMs), so saving them isn't all that valuable.

Any thoughts?
