With the "Improved Visibility for Upgrades", what is the functionality of the Upgrade Requested throughout the life-cycle of the reservation.

I have an existing reservation with GPU requested upgrade that has two segments MHT-EWR, EWR-TLV on the same day. The Blue Link Upgrade Requested was on the reservation record until I checked in for the 1st segment MHT-EWR, which does not have upgrade cabin (RJ).

Now the Blue Link is gone and I'm T-27 to the EWR-TLV departure.

1) Is this the correct function of the Blue Link - (i.e. disappears completely even though a GPU is still outstanding on the second segment)?
2) Should the Blue Link - Upgrade Requested stay on the reservation page until departure (i.e. second segment) if the upgrade never clears?

It's not clear to me from reading all the replys on this Thread what the correct expectations are for this "Improved Visibility"

Please post your experiences - I've got 3 hours before this goes Airport Control and the 1K desk says "No can help!"
If you are on EWR-TLV 3:55pm departure on 10/13 R is currently R0 which means there is no instrument (GPU) upgradable space. Further it is J2 meaning there are only 2 BF seats open.

Since you checked in you should appear on the upgrade waitlist for EWR-TLV on the flight status page. If you are not then there was an issue in the transfer of the GPU
