In non-US markets there are other Amex Platinum Charge cards which don't work. For example in Canada there is an Amex Aeroplan Platinum charge card, fee $499, not a credit card, not issued by a "bank" (unless you consider Amex Bank of Canada a bank, which I don't). This card gets you into Maple Leaf Lounges and earns Aeroplan miles instead of MR points. They throw in a mid-tier Priority Pass membership that doesn't cover guests. No AC access with this one, unless it's an AC that accepts PP.
