I have the exact same problem. I mentioned in the other thread (01OCT SHARES upgrade release) that I am no longer to do open jaws. I was trying to do YVR-SYD and then SIN-YVR. I ended up doing it over the phone.

I could have done two one-ways however my client sometimes changes their travel dates on me which would mean two change fees.

In July I flew YVR-SYD and then BKK-YVR and I was able to purchase it on the UA website.
