Employee rates are a totally different thing because they may be $29.99 to $49.99 and offered to Club Carlson employees only.

First post. Howdy all, and walkin' in with a question.
It states in the T&C references to both "employee rates" and further down, "hotel employee rates". I called Carlson and couldn't get a straight answer whether the government rate (current federal civilian) would apply to the 1-for-1. I'm trying to book a stay in Corpus Christi and it's 49 less for the gov rate, sans taxes, of course, and with the 8% TopCashBack expiring tomorrow, I'd love to book it at the gov rate for a great overall value by COB tomorrow. Great punctuation, I know.
I'm not a total newb to the points game, but it's those tricky caveats, I'm still trying to sort out. Just looking to maximize as usual and not get caught making my case after the fact. I like to stack if and when all possible.
Any advice from the collective? How do I determine that the "government rate", which is not explicitly referenced, does NOT include itself under the term "employee rates"?
Long time lurker, and glad I'm finally here.
Decided to go with a co-workers method, and booked a room at each rate. Just gotta cancel by the 16th for no penalty on the room that doesn't qualify. The AAA rate, as stated by Carlson rep does qualify, so once I get an consistent answer from them I'll know which room to cancel. Fingers crossed for the gov rate.
