ADDED. How much connecting time does he OP have? Taxi might not be the best option from EWR to JFK. Have you investigated public transport? Taking a train or subway could minimize the risk of traffic jams.

I am looking a few times per day. I know about the 72 hour rule so I have till August 20, 2013 to make the change. I do not want to split the PNR for 1 seat as my wife is only GM. We have a 5.5 hour connect time.
