Only other possibility is as mentioned if you are at risk of missing the connection due to delay/irops. You could keep an eye on the award level in case there is a miracle and low opens up for the routing you want.
I check every day to try and get across NYC for JFK or even LGA. I of course rather fly F domestic but really do not care if we are in Y. Without the KVS tool I would have not seen the JFK-FCO openings in low and the low MSP-EWR so I do feel lucky getting low TALT very lucky. I guess we will worst case fly to EWR and taxi to JFK. Still a great deal. Thanks for the responses.
