I am based in Singapore for a week, but whilst there, I want to experience the new Thai A380, so I am having an excursion to Bangkok. Outbound on a Thai 777, and then the return (3hrs later) on the fabled A380!
I won't be travelling with any luggage at all, not even hand luggage (well apart from camera and wallet and passport, in my pockets) as it will all be in my hotel room in Singapore!
What is the deal with this kind of 'fun' travel, when I arrive at BKK?
Will I need to pass thru immigration even though check-in for my return flight would have already opened?
Will the immigration officials think I look suspicious doing such a 'fun run'?
I think it's more common than you think. I can't speak to the specifics of Thai immigration, but there are a wide number of professions that require this sort of travel, and plenty of tourists/travelers who do it regardless. If Immigration asks you questions, just answer them truthfully--they've heard much stranger stories than yours.
