Logistics of visiting Borobudur from Bali for a day trip
I am staying in Bali for 7 nights, but during that time I want to visit Borobudur and Prambanan temples in Yogyakarta.
I can do the flights with Garuda from Bali to Yogya, departing around 8am and returning 8pm (£230rtn). However, with no hotel to use in Yogya, I must be travelling and exploring the whole time, with very little rest.
When arriving at Yogyakarta airport, if I asked a taxi driver to take me to Borobudur at Magelang, what would be his reaction? Is this too far for a regular taxi driver?
Also, is there a taxi rank at Borobudur? How would I get back to Yogyakarta if I am not part of a tour, or using a specific driver/guide who would wait for me (which I don't want to do)?
Ideally, I would spend a couple of hours at Borobudur, an hour at Prambanan, and I guess the rest of the time would be spent in Malioboro somewhere, such as Taman Sari or Keraton. I could even do a little trek to Parangtritis.
