I think 75 minutes is a fairly standard minimum connection time for HNL. The airport is pretty spread out, and you are unlikely to be departing out of the same terminal. You will probably arrive in the overseas terminal and have to take the wiki wiki bus to the interisland terminal. An hour is plenty of time to make it if everything is on time, but they also set the times thinking about luggage and possible delays.

I am not sure whether they changed the minimum connection time or something else. I have, however, found that my interisland flights seem to get changed all the time. If I make a reservation far enough in advance, I find my interisland flights get changed almost randomly. I almost never have a problem getting them changed by calling in, but it seems they always require at least 75 minutes.
