I seem to recall a period earlier this year where OZ was substituting a 2-class 777 for the 747 on the ICN-LAX route on certain days, meaning some F passengers weren't able to travel in F. So there is at least some risk of being downgraded to C regardless of whether one flies out of ORD, LAX, or wherever.
