I'm curious if this has this ever happened to anyone here. Apparently the LH agents at JFK were very confused and had not seen this problem before.
I'm wondering how this could have happened. The bags were tagged for the correct two initial flights, but not the final one (tagged for the same flight one day earlier). Is there some limit on how far in advance bags can be tagged? The final flight on the ticket will depart 30+ hours after the bags were checked. Just to be sure I checked the ticket and LH shows the correct date/time for all flights.

Would they seriously hold the bag in BKK rather than send it on the next (once per day) flight to KTM? Should the passenger file a missing baggage report at BKK? Could that be done without going through immigration?
The passenger has 9 hours in FRA; could LH or TG do anything there to correct the situation (i.e. pull the bags and retag them)?
I still remember back in 2003 when I had a purely handwritten luggage tag.
