A relative is a JFK trying to check bags for LH 401 (JFK-FRA) connecting to TG921 (FRA-BKK, Oct. 11) and TG319 (BKK-KTM, Oct 12). This is all one ticket (UA issued, LH F, TG F and C).

The bag tags print out as going on the Oct. 11th BKK-KTM flight, and the agents (3 of them) cannot figure out how to correctly tag the bags. They said that leaving the bags tagged for the Oct. 11th flight would mean that the bags might stay in BKK.

I suggested that they just take a marker to the bag tags and change the date that way.

Has anyone ever had this problem? Would the bags actually stay in BKK?

There would be enough time to claim the bags in BKK, but that would mean going through immigration, rechecking the bags, paying the Thai departure tax, missing out on the TG lounge, etc.
