ok, so missing the connecting flight for any other reason than Egypt Air being late inbound or cancelling its flight to Cyprus we will need to follow the itinerary.

We are going to LHR as a scheduled part of our trip.

Cairo was just in the flight path of Cyprus, and initially my wife had NO interest in even stepping off the plane in Cairo with the latest troubles in the middle east, since that has calmed down she is now willing to do a 1 day.

thanks for the info on the Visa's didnt know we needed them, spoke with Egypt air when we picked seats and she said we didnt need them, but at that time we were just making a connection.

seems like we will only see the pyramids from the plane
