Here are couple of options:
1. Transfer points to American Airlines AAdvantage (yes, it's US based airline but you can book flights on BA and Qantas). Go to AA.com and search one way Aberdeen to Perth using flexible date. You will get a calendar showing availability. Business class is 120,000 AA points for 2 and about $900 in fees. I see plenty of options next April/May. Call AA and add the lap child.
2. This would be my choice as it is most direct on a top airline. Transfer to Singapore Air's KrisFlyer. Go to it's website and search for "redeem miles" one way London to Perth. You will see saver Business award options for 170,000 miles. You get 15% off for booking online so you only need 144,500 miles plus 861GBP. Call SQ and add lap child.
Another option will be to redeem for 3 economy tickets on Singapore for 102,000 miles plus fees. You can then request bulkhead section with bassinet.
For the SQ redemption, you can use Avios to get to London.
No stopovers are permitted on a one way redemptions.
Thanks for the info and options open to us,option 2 you say business award options for 170,000 miles,i take as i have points they are the same as miles?so i really have 120,000 miles?you mentioned about 15% off is this for a limited time or all the time, where do you see this?
And you say with this 15% off and only needing 144,500 miles,i take cause i have 124,000 points i would need to buy the rest or pay the rest to make up for this?
Did i not read on here or elsewhere about being able to transfer my points and getting free points for every so much redeemed?
I take i dont add infant to the booking if and when i do but just call and lap child? When you add a lap child is this extra on top of the miles and money required to make up the miles?I take when you add a lap child you dont get option of bassinet and sitting near a bulkhead or is this not an option when on business?
You then go to mentioned about redeem for 3 economy tickets 120,000 miles, where do you find this, when im on spg it says something like 95,000 points per person?and when you say 3 why three as she is an infant any reason why?and then ask for bassinet near bulkhead, sorry i sound dumb on this but trying to get my head around the whole thing, what my options are what is best, business sounds really good and never did this before, but is it normal to have a baby in business class and what is the difference from this to standard,ok better leg room etc for us both but what about baby?
