Sunday 10/07
I woke up quite early, well before my scheduled wake-up, but that was no surprise given my lack of a true deep sleep overnight.
Fortunately, there is a Cora's Dejuner in the Meadowvale Town Center, and Cora's is downright my favorite breakfast place in Canada. Huge portions, fresh squeezed juices, fresh fruit...and not too expensive. My favorite Cora's is in the student ghetto in Montreal. I used to go there a couple times a month as a student and still tend to go back when I visit Montreal.
Anywho, I had what in French is the Dix Etages Omelet. 4 Eggs, 10 Added Ingredients. Juice and Tea. The Omelet came with fresh fruit and potatoes. All this food, about $15 and would easily get me to dinner.
After eating, I went back to the hotel, watched TSN's SportsCentre for awhile and then checked-out and headed into Toronto to see Cirque du Soleil's Amaluna. Amaluna was good, but I have to admit I was a little disappointed in it. The clowns were only so-so and some of the acts were so slow that they lost my attention. I saw two other Cirque shows this year, Zarkana in NYC and Dralion in Richmond, VA and liked both better. Se la vie!
After Cirque, I headed out to my hotel for tonight, the 4 Points Missisauga by YYZ. This hotel was located in the middle of an industrial park by the airport but was so nice it really should be a full Sheraton. I was checked-in promptly and thanked for being a platinum member. I was upgraded to a Deluxe King which really would have been a junior suite in a Sheraton. The room was quite large with a sitting area with a couch and armchair and then a desk and King size bed. Overall quite happy and a night a day difference from the treatment received at the Mississauga Meadowvale.
After a brief but very nice swim in the indoor pool I went back to the front desk to see about dinner. The clerk gave me some really good recommendations but mentioned that they were all a 15-20 minute drive from the hotel. I was exhausted and didn't feel like driving for dinner so I decided to eat at the 4 points restaurant.
I'm glad that I did eat at the restaurant. A 1/2 pound burger and 2 glasses of house red for about $30. The wine was decent and the burger was surprisingly good. And I loved the onion rings that the waiter gladly substituted the fries for!
After eating I went back upstairs, laid down on my very comfortable bed (with 4 pillows!), enjoyed a bottle of water and headed off for a very good nights sleep.
