So we saved for 4yrs and got 200k miles, we booked 1st class flights for our honeymoon

JFK-CAI (Egypt Air)

4hr layover in CAI

CAI-LCA (Egypt Air)

5 day stay in Cyprus

LCA-LHR (Aegean Air)

4 day stay in London

LHR-EWR (United)


So we land in Cairo at 11:15am and our connection to Cyprus is 4pm, so no time to leave and do anything. We asked USAir if we could take the next day flight to Cyprus giving us a 28hrs in Cairo to go see the Pyramids and they said no its against policy as we already have a JAW in Cyprus.

So I asked the USAir rep and I'm asking you, what would happen if we missed our EgyptAir connection to Cyprus, the next one is not til the next day. Would they put us on it, would it jeopardize the rest of our itinerary?

I would be willing to even PAY cash for the flight from Cairo to Cyprus to have the opportunity to see the Pyramids but I dont want to lose the rest of my 1st class flights later in the trip.

USAir says that EgyptAir can do whatever they liked in reboooking on the next day if it was their fault (say my flight in was delayed) but if we got held up in customs or lost in the airport EgyptAir would tell us 'not their problem' and have us call USAir and it would be a nightmare and could jeopardize the rest of my itinerary ?


do I have any options here?
