Gangnam is quite upscale residential, so there are no shortage of italian places etc., but there are definitely local places considering the high percentage of Koreans living there. Try searching http://www.seouleats.com/ by location or their review map.

If you love garlic and chicken I'd suggest Banpo Chicken near the express bus terminal http://m.visitseoul.net/en/article/a...=53599&lang=en It's nothing fancy, but will fulfill your garlic cravings for a while...
