Considering people are successfully cutting sim cards down now pretty much means the information is contained within the area of the nano sim.

The original sim card was credit card sized. Since that time, all the information has been in the same ares, and all larger cards could be cut down.

Do I know for a fact that you could cut down each and every sim card to a micro or nano sim and not have trouble? No, but I've not seen a single report of somebody cutting it down and not being able to use it.
