As an EXP, you don't really have to do this, and in the past I hadn't done it. If you had a companion, then absolutely to save stickers. However, the original comment above about IRROPS definitely makes me think it's in your interest to call. I doubt the EXP desk would have any issue, but you may explain it directly like that.
Keep us posted if you call, I'm curious if they do it easily. When I called two weeks ago for my wife's ticket, they did put me on hold and had to call revenue management to get it switched out, since there probably wasn't available A she could slot me into, so they had to have revenue management swap an X for an A.
