OP, Sorry to piggy back on your thread but I have a related question and thought I should add to this tread. Also as others have mentioned as long as US stays in *A you have almost same number of choices to get to India from US. You can fly other *A carriers like NH, TG etc but if US does leave for OW then your choices will be limited. Since it is a hypothetical situation at this point, no one can answer with any guarantee.
@View-with-a-room where are you seeing Swiss First availability? From which airports to which airports? With UA miles or US miles? I have enough UA and US miles for one F ticket and am trying to decide whether to use UA miles or US miles. Appreciate your response.
