Didn't read that thread but sounds pretty laughable and Unenforceable. I certainly wouldn't be bothered if one of my employees did it. Besides alot of companies now have an economy only policy.
And perhaps more would be encouraged to enforce a Y only policy if they saw that their employees were able to fly Y and still arrive perfectly capable of conducting business the next day.
Some employers offer it as a perk, sure (for example instead of flying J you could opt to fly Y and keep $1000 or something like that), but others provide for J travel specifically because they want their employees to be flying in that J seat (the same way they'll force you to take leave every year).
