Thank you David Siegel for the letter, below, received today. You asked the question: "why would you book anywhere else?".
The reason is simple: I'm required to book work travel on our corporate site. And while I must book there, I have almost complete freedom to book the carrier and schedule of my own choice. Since on Frontier, per your letter, I'll only earn half as many miles as with ANY other carrier, the only carrier I'll avoid is Frontier.
Sincerely,
One of your infrequent flyers (for reason below, following your letter) and soon-to-be even less frequent flyer

Thanks again for the letter. I am glad you reduced the miles for an award back to the old level. Was it last year or the year before when I had 19000 miles, expecting my next flight would earn a free ticket to go skiing? But right before booking a ticket that would earn the award, I received your earlier letter, notifying me that the EarlyReturns miles required for a free ticket increased to 25000. Remember that? I do.
I figured the amount required for an award on Frontier would always dangle just out of reach so I stopped booking on Frontier. Still, work sometimes dictates a schedule that Frontier best meets so I book an occasional trip and now I have 24000 miles. This change is welcome! I just don't know when I'll book Frontier. Maybe a self purchased ticket for a ski trip, booked on FlyFrontier.com? We'll see....
