Laptop Bags, organization solutions

Hi everyone, I am new here. I got a promotion back in May and find myself traveling about 1-2 times a month (compared to about 2-3 times a year before!).

Needless to say I have had it with my company issued laptop bag. organization in it sucks. My typical trips are only a few days, but i dont want to go to see my clients or into the office with a bag that has both clothes and laptop (so i prefer a carry separate from laptop). What i really want is a single purpose, over the shoulder, non rolling laptop bag. checkpoint approved would be awesome.

typically what i carry are:

-laptop, cord, thumb drives,
-some paperwork or folders (i typically dont do too much paper in this day in age)
-iphone cord, wall adapter, car/cigarette lighter adapter, audio cable for car, ear buds,
-iphone usb power pack (its about the size and shape of a small harmonica and you plug your iphone into it when you're not near a power source -like a plane, and it will recharge. perfect since i use the crap out of my phone on the plane for music, games etc to kill time)
-mints or gum,
-sunglasses
-pens, notebook/organizer
-asprin, pepto, claratin (not full bottles of course, just travel packs. i have bad allergies and a sensitive stomach, and better to be safe than sorry)

all cords are wrapped up and Velcro strapped.

my current laptop bag just has a big pouch in the front that everything goes in.. i feel like it's turned into my moms purse - a huge backhole for all my must have stuff to get lost in. all its missing are the kleenax and lint balls and tic tacs LOL

anyways, what are your laptop bag solutions, what works, and what doesnt work? I really cant afford anything crazy like a tumi, something on the lower end would be great (sub 150 ideal). As mentioned before something thats non rolling, no clothes compartment, organization to the max, and check point approved would be awesome.

thanks in advance and appreciate everyones thoughts.
