Welcome to FT, Bartjeman. If your flight is over the next few days, I am afraid that PV to J upgrade is very unlikely. AF has stopped honoring all SWU's, and in fact pulled away virtually all 'O' inventory (classic business class awards, J, which is also used for upgrades) on transatlantic flights until further notice.

And feel free to contact Delta and complain. The more people complain, the more likely it is that DL would at least admit in public what many of us know. On Sep. 13, Delta sent a memo to all front-line agents that there is a problem with AF and AF stopped honoring SWU, and allocating award seats.
