It's seeing premium pax treated like this that makes me less worried about whether I seek to renew gold this year.
Ironically, despite the regular bagging that QF gets on forums and the Aussie press, both times I have been in the OPs position (once in F, once in J) they have proactively contacted me and had a solution ready - in one case to a non OW airline. Which frankly I feel is appropriate for premium pax.
