The chap who alternates between the bag / coat check at GF (yesterday) and the same jobs in the CCR and the T3 F lounge is amazing. He is always warm and welcoming and it's so sad to see him ignored by so many who charge by.
When I told him how good he was and what a pleasure it was to see him every time, he gave me his boss's card and asked me to send an email to her. I was only too happy to.
As adrianjc32 says it was for Restaurant Associates, but not sure whether they handle LGW.
Whatever happens, it sounds as if the guy at LGW should be recognised, as his colleagues at LHR are not nearly so proactive, usually doing everything they can to avoid your gaze, making it impossible to make an order from the menu unless you actively track one of the waiters down - the order is then more often than not taken as if it is a real imposition.
My guess, looking at the state of GF at really busy periods, is that they are short-staffed and can't keep up with the clearing away as it is... but there is no excuse at quiet times in my opinion.
The waiters in the CCR are usually more proactive.
