Tomorrow was indeed the 5th.
I had expertflyer open, all BA and QF flights were showing F0.
In the end, I was nice for 2 hours and nothing happened. I was nasty for 5 minutes: and viola! An F seat on BA12 was made for me (seriously: I was waitlisted, then SS worked for a few hours).
Good service recovery by BA: bad that you set customers the expectation that being reasonable gets you nothing and being forceful gets you what you want. To be fair thought, it was a no win situation for BA at that point though...
Also, while BA7311 is now showing F2 (was F0 at the time), QF1 (the underlying flight) is showing F0, so it's unclear if those F seats are confirmable.

They're talking tripe. As of this moment - I cannot guarantee that this will last there are 2 seats in F on BA 7311. (A380).
