The GUM-MNL segment now shows as "Complimentary Premier Upgrade Requested". That didn't seem right to me, since there's a clear difference between RPU and CPU.

My question: Is this the new normal, where the website switches to incorrectly/vaguely saying "Complimentary Premier Upgrade Requested" no matter what you actually used to initially support the upgrade (miles, regional, or systemwide)? Has anyone else seen that? Or did my RPU slip off this segment, and I just lost ground on the waitlist?
IME this is normal and the RPU gets processed.

A month or so ago I sponsored a relative for an upgrade and it did not clear before 24 hours out. IIRC at that point it showed as "CPU requested" (I think this was the preview site). He was #2 on a long list, which showed the the RPU worked (he was at the 1K level, not his level). Thankfully his u/g cleared at the gate.

More recently I did the same thing (saw "CPU requested" after check-in), and while the u/g did not clear, it was obvious that the pax was being processed at the 1K level (5 out of 42 on the list).
