I just ran into the same thing today. I know that when booking weeks ago, I requested an RPU on a flight from LAX->ORD on Sunday. Today I looked and it said "Complimentary Premier Upgrade Requested". I re-requested a RPU and it still says CPU Requested.

So its either losing my request or mis-representing the upgrade that was requested. A big deal, since instruments clear first....

Hopefully just a display issue.
