HNL First Class- Difference Between 753 and domestic 777

When comparing first class on UA's old domestic 777s and pmCO's 753s, is there much difference? All of the 753s are on the HNL-LAX route while the 777s are on HNL-SFO for the redeyes. Never been on a domestic 777 and the last time I was on a 753 was 2009. Neither have AVOD, footrests, or significant recline. I am ultimately trying to get LAX and my thought is that it's not worth routing through SFO (even though its the same price) just to be on a domestic 777. Any contrary opinions?

Also, any word of a refresh of the domestic 777s? I heard rumblings a few months back about taking the old barcalounger seats from the pre-reconfig international 777s and using them on the domestic birds. Anyone seen any evidence of this?
