Award trip from West Coast to DEL: better through Asia or Europe?
Planning award trip from SEA to DEL using miles in C or F. My options so far:
option1
NH 1077 C SEA 11:55am NRT 3:45pm EQP: 788
NH 0917 C NRT 5:20pm DEL 12:20am EQP: 767
Flight time: 21:20
Total time: 22:55
60K miles
option2
LH 491 F SEA 1:55pm FRA 9:05am EQP: 333
LH 760 C FRA 1:30pm DEL 1:15am EQP: 747
Flight time: 17:30
Total time: 21:50
80K miles
LH option is shorter (especially the Air time) and it gives me 4hr to freshen up and enjoy the first class lounge in FRA. On the other hand, it's 20K more miles and only the first leg is available in F for my dates. I can do all C on LH on the same flights for 60K, but a red-eye on LH C is not very exciting.
NH is a daytime flight, which is supposedly better for jetlag, gives me a chance to fly 787 and it arrives one hour before LH. On the other hand, NRT-DEL leaves at 5:20pm, which means it will be dark for the whole 10 hours of the flight. Also, NH's 767 on the second leg has "NH new cradle seats" whatever it means - not sure if they are better or worse than LH C on a 747.
Which option would be more comfortable and easier on jetlag?
Breaking a trip to DEL with stopover is not an option, because I am already planning a stopover on the way back.
