This will be the fourth year I've qualified for Silver Medallion, starting in 2009.

2009: Qualified on Segments (31). 3 were for military related travel during my ROTC summer program. The rest were personal travel.

2010: Qualified on Segments (33). All personal travel

2011: Qualified on Segments (30) and MQM (30K). All travel was personal. The MQMs were split 50/50: 15K BIS, 15K from bonuses (AmEx). I think all of my segments were 500 miles or less too.

2012: Will qualify on MQM: 5K from roller-over, 10K from AmEx, and about 13K from a mix of military (3.5K) and personal travel (9.5K).

Will have about 3K for roll-over going into 2013 unless I get another trip or two for military travel between now and Jan 1 where I'll be on DL. Guess you could say this is the first year I've earned it through means other than BIS Miles (or rather segments), as 2009-2011, I hit the necessary segment minimums without having to worry about MQMs.
