Staying here a couple of nights this week as other options were just way too expensive. Was a bit of an experiment for me as it's a base for NY work and wasn't sure how easy it would be to get in/out of the city. Well it sure is easy. The NJ Transit bus route 320 stops right outside the hotel. It took about 35 minutes each way in rush hour to/from the Port Authority bus terminal in midtown. Bus was comfortable and was not busy when I boarded so easily got a seat (most people seem to load/unload at a large parking lot just befre the NJ Turnpike) Tickets are $3.20 each way and there is a ticket machine at the bus stop outside the HP
Not much to say for the hotel itself, as mentioned it is pretty generic Hyatt Place. Nice big TV screen in the room that is lodgenet so was able to use my iPhone app to control which is nice. There is a little shop and bar downstairs. The breakfast room was full this morning of seniors all wearing the same tour group name badges so ties in with indication this place is popular with tour groups. No big deal for me as I eat my breakfast when I get to my office anyway.
Good to know there is a potentially cheap Hyatt option within spitting distance of the city. Now all I need is for them to add a similar Hyatt Place to the far more conveniently located Long Island City (pretty much all the other chains have something there....)
