I have few queries related to Carry On Baggage for USA to India Travel. I am currently in USA and will be traveling back to India in November end / December first week. The port of entry for me is Dallas (DFW Airport) and i will be landing in India at Mumbai (BOM).
I have traveled earlier from Mumbai to DFW on British Airways and i used to take 1 carry on bag (with wheels, proper cabin bag size) and one laptop bag (backpack) which would stuff with lot of things. Never had a problem with them.

Now for my return i have been given the following options (as of now) for my travel from DFW to BOM..

DFW - LHR - BOM - BRITISH AIRWAYS

DFW - FRA - BOM - LUFTHANSA

DFW - DXB - BOM - EMIRATES

DFW - EWR - BOM - UNITED AIRLINES

Now BA looks to be the safest bet because i have traveled in this before so i know what i can carry. Also the BA website does mention 1 Carry On and 1 additional laptop bag.
But i checked the option of Emirates and Luftansa and on their website there is no mention about the additional laptop bag so i am bit concerned.

Should i play safe and try getting the British Airways ticket so i dont face luggage hassles ?
Or if someone has travelled from USA to India on any of the other airlines and know how the carry on rules apply, would appreciate some know how on that.
United is the safest bet for maximum carry-on allowance followed by British in the case of economy class travel from the US to India.
